We Five Folk Rock Revival:

5/3/08: We Five was privileged to take part in the fantastic tribute / memorial concert for John Stewart held at Pepperdine University. We are currently compiling reflective notes from the band that will be shared here with you very soon.
1/21/08: We were all saddened to hear about the passing of John Stewart. He was a very special friend as well as a truly unique American storyteller who will be missed by those of us who knew him, and fondly remembered by all who knew his work.
4/8/07: Jerry, Debbie, Terry, Chris and Jimmy performed Amazing Grace at the annual Hollywood Bowl Sunrise Service. It was remarkable being in the Bowl as darkness turned to light and the birds came alive singing a chorus at a volume rivaling the sound system…
3/23/07: Early bird alert. The band will be singing at the annual Easter Sunrise Service held at the Hollywood Bowl on April 8. The event is free... the 5:00 A.M. start time... We'll see you there
3/16/07: Welcome Jimmy Dunn. Jimmy played his first gig with the band at the Candlelight Pavillion in Claremont, CA. He is an excellent keyboardist, and an even better friend.
11/9/06: We Five teamed up with PBS this week in Pittsburgh. Their music specials are fantastic... and this one will not be any different! Keep your eyes and ears open for an airing sometime in June '07.
7/14/06: What a fantastic evening was had at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont, CA. The audience was fantastic! Thanks to Michael Ryan and the staff at the CP... you all are very pro!
6/10/06: The band is still in the studio working on the next CD. The recordings are sure to please fans of the Folk Rock Revival shows. Some of the tracks include: The Dutchman, Bad News Man, Someday soon, and Amazing Grace.
2/14/06: It's here!!!! "Catch the Wind" has been re-released by Collector's Choice Music on CD. Check out Michael Stewart's last effort with the band as Debbie, Jerry, and Peter bring the house down. For years this long lost classic has been a very expensive find in the used LP circles. Now you can hear it (pop free) for the first time ever!!!
11/5/05: Congratulations to Chris for being awarded an ASCAPLUS Award in the Jazz -- Popular Division! ASCAPLUS Awards are determined annually by a panel of distinguished music experts who are neither members, nor employees of ASCAP, and are completely independent in their Award adjudication. Awards are based on panel review of recent activity of writer applicants. Each applicant is considered on merit and in the context of all others applying. ASCAPLUS is not a contest or competition involving the critical evaluation of any specific work or works. The primary basis for panel determinations is the activity generated by each member's catalog, with emphasis on recent performances.
9/15/05: We had a blast with WE FIVE in San Francisco at USF's 150th B-Day bash!!! The event was extra special because it re-united Bob Jones (the original 12 string guitarist for WE FIVE) with Jerry Burgan and the gang for two nights of a rockin' good time!!! Since the band had it's beginnings at USF the event brought in large alumni crowds to help ring in the event. It was great having Bob and Chris split time between drums and guitars. (Bob was the drummer for Michael Bloomfield after leaving the Five... and Chris grew up in Bob's shadow... so drums were a must).
6/19/05: Hi all. Just a quick note to let you know that we are doing well and enjoying the opportunities we have had to meet many of you on the road. A special thanks to those who came out the The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Alta-Dena Ca. We set a new paid attendance receord for the venue!!! The shows have been fun and the audiences have been great!!!!! The acoustic set including "I can't help (falling in love with you)" and "Somewhere beyond the sea" has been a real blast to play for the first time in some thirty years. Thanks everyone who has been a part of the fun.
12/15/04: Chris' new live acoustic CD is ready for release. "In Studio" @ KSCU - Santa Clara University Radio with "HepCat Hans and Dave The Blues Dude." Chris shares some fun reflections on WE FIVE during the broadcast.
9/1/04: Jamie Stewart / XIU XIU's newest CD "Fabulous Muscles" in on sale now! AMG hails it as "the most pop Xiu Xiu record, and the most experimental. An important record."
4/1/04: Chris' new CD "Love, Hope Faith" is in, and the responses have been great! Thanks for all of the support Hopefully we will be playing it live for you soon.
9/10/03 - Thanks to all of you who came out to Pearson Park Amphitheater. We had a blast! If you did not get to the show, you missed the band premier 3 new songs ("Bandstand Dancer" from the Take Each Day As It Comes album) and a very cool combined instrumental of Classical Gas and Eleanor Rigby. The venue was great!
8/15/03 - Wow! Lots of things have been going on in the We Five camp over the last few months... We have played several concerts (thanks to those of you who came out) and began recording basic tracks for the new CD! If you're a fan of the band, you will love it!
4/20/03 - We Five at the Hollywood Bowl. It is a worldwide telecast. Set your VCR's for a 5:25 A.M. Easter Morning Service performance. Check your local listings for channel settings.
4/14/03 - The band has begun discussions for recording a new CD! Keep posted... but, it sounds like the music will be a mix of brand new songs, new recordings of unreleased or unavailable material, and remakes of some well known songs that are staples in the band's live set.
4/12/03 - Out of respect for Michael, We Five observed a 6-month time of mourning. Although he was not healthy enough to perform with the band in the last years of his life, Jerry and Peter had separate opportunities to talk with Michael at length on several occasions concerning varied topics including recording, the heritage of the band, it's place in music history, and the continued influence that folk rock has in pop music. It is the band's hope that Michael's vision would continue to live on through the WE FIVE Folk Rock Revival concerts.
11/13/02 - Michael Stewart, Co-Founder of We Five passed away this morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stewart Family. Words cannot express the loss we feel in losing Michael, and the joy we have had in knowing him. Our deepest love and support is yours.
